Via engadget.com this scary story Snooping by satellite | CNET News.com not that I care but I just happen to be thinking tonight on the way home that George Orwell was 20 years off with 1984. Gee thanks Bush I feel so much more secure.

I know the argument if you don’t do any thing wrong then why should you object? Because it a slippery slope!

Looks like Microsoft is now trying to help them selves in the perception issue with the Microsoft Windows AntiSpyware it is now beta but looks good. I have been running it today and have talked to others that have run it for a week or so now with no problems.

So now with XP service pack 2 and Microsoft Windows AntiSpyware I think most people are going to not be hurt too badly in the big bad net.

I am a huge gadget freak and I hate this time of year because the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is on this time of year and it shows me that once again I will be fighting with my wife on what I “need” to get .

There is some good coverage of what is at the show this year on engadget.com. Have fun drooling!

OK I know this seams strange but I am not a “sports” fan at all! But I do like just about any sport live, at a venue and enjoyed with friends. My company gets Chargers tickets each year and if the tickets can’t be used for “sales” purposes  then they go up for grabs for us in the company. I had the tickets for Sep 19th (my birthday) but something came-up and I could not go but I was lucky and got the last regular season tickets.

It was a fun game but I think American football needs to take a page from English football (that is soccer to us yanks). When I was working in England a while back I was extremely fortunate to get to go to two Newcastle United games. My relatives (really Sam's) have season tickets that include access to a suite or club that has a buffet and a bar staff so before the game you sit, eat and drink (a lot) with a large group then before you go out to the game you fill in a drink order for half time. After the gave they serve desert, coffee and more drink! It is a blast and the perfect way to see a game, as much fun as tailgating is here this was more fun!

So any way I just made a simple post more in depth then needed but well I guess that is what this space is for. Here are some pictures of my son and his buddy before and after the Chargers game.

Before the game we did some real tailgating

On Scott Water’s blog (where I was looking for news on his new version of .Text called Community Server) I found a cool site called Project Distributor.

ProjectDistributor is a web application for distributing small pieces of software - such as tools, components, widgets and controls. Users create groups to store projects against and visitors can login to download those projects or to leave feedback about bugs or to request new features.

I have used the log parser from Microsoft in the past and always been disappointed with the level of support from Microsoft for it but today I found a cool site that has some gems The Unofficial Log Parser Support Site.

As I sit a far too early meeting at a Microsoft in Irvine office listening to a Patters And Practices talk about the Enterprise Development Reference Architecture I realized that Microsoft may have learned what chaos they have wrought to the world.

I am one of Microsoft's biggest supporters, my home and lively hood is directly linked to Microsoft's success (as well as a large part of my retirement) but they have made it so easy for hack/cowboy developers that there technology gets blamed for all the worlds ills.

The good news is that with the other PAG projects and now this EDRA Microsoft is at-least trying to make the hack/cowboy developers aware of some bigger issues. What they missed is that they have tried to solve the uber problem at the “Enterprise” level. Well no one is going to implement a truly “Enterprise” solution with there technology until they have some success at the work-group and then the department level so they need to address this space first.

They also need to show how there upcoming tool set (Visual Studio 2005) will help with any implementation. But apparently they have not started to even port the current EDRA to that environment. By the way if you have not looked at VS 2005 (aka Widbey) you need to it rocks!

And yes you can look forward to a disclaimer coming to this blog soon as I know I could catch some crap for this type of post.
